Overnight shift
Overnight duration = next-day clock-out + 24h − clock-in
A shift from 22:00 to 06:00 lasts eight hours. After a 30-minute unpaid break, the result is 7h 30m, or7.50 decimal hours.
Split shift
Daily total = first shift + second shift
Working 08:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:30 produces 4 hours plus 4 hours 30 minutes, for a daily total of 8h 30m.

Hours, decimal time, and thresholds
If a shift has an error, the weekly result is marked incomplete and shows a subtotal from valid days only. A day with an invalid shift is excluded in full, including any other shift that day. Fix the listed entries to restore the complete weekly total and threshold split. Blank days do not make the total incomplete.
Hours and decimal hours
Decimal hours divide total minutes by 60; they are not ordinary clock minutes. For example, 7h 45m becomes 7.75 hours, while 7h 30m becomes 7.50 hours.
Informational threshold
The optional threshold separates minutes below and above a number such as 40 hours. It does not apply wage rates, rounding policies, jurisdiction rules, or decide whether time legally qualifies as overtime.

How are overnight shifts handled?
If clock-out is earlier than clock-in, it is treated as the following day. For example, 22:00 to 06:00 is eight hours. Identical times are zero hours, not a 24-hour shift.
What are decimal hours?
Minutes are divided by 60 and shown to two decimal places. For example, 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.50 hours.
Does the threshold determine legal overtime?
No. It only splits hours around a number you choose. It does not calculate wages or determine payroll, labor-law, or overtime entitlement.
