Quick guide

How to use the Pomodoro timer

  1. 1

Press Start for the default 25-minute focus session, or adjust the settings first.

  2. 2

Pause or resume when needed. The timer calculates from timestamps, so delayed background-tab updates do not remove time.

  3. 3

Move through short breaks and a long break after the configured number of completed focus sessions.

Pomodoro Timer FAQ

What is a Pomodoro-style timer?

It alternates bounded focus sessions with breaks. The defaults here are 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute short break, and a 15-minute long break after four completed focus sessions.

Does the timer remain accurate in a background tab?

Yes. It uses an absolute end timestamp rather than assuming every timer callback arrives exactly on time.

Where are my settings stored?

Durations, auto-start choices, sound preference, and the completed-session count are saved in this browser. An active timer is intentionally reset after a page reload.
